Radio Communautaire Missisquoi Inc. (RCM) is a non-profit organization founded more than 10 years ago to establish an English-language community radio station for the Brome-Missisquoi region. The radio station, CIDI 99.1 FM, officially went on the air in November, 2008, broadcasting in both English and French.RCM’s commitment to promoting the music of our region, strengthened by the participation of members from former local music promoter Sunnymead, has led to the organization’s involvement in five main areas:
- Radio: operating radio station CIDI 99.1 FM
- TV: producing “STOP!”, a community cable show featuring local musicians
- Events: organizing concert events in a variety of venues in the region
- Production: producing music by local musicians in our Knowlton studios
- Web: implementing the latest technologies allowing for the largest community interaction
RCM’s mission statement, “Being Who We Are”, encapsulates this orientation.
In achieving its objective, RCM also provides educational opportunities for the local public, which is invited to obtain training in broadcasting and recording arts and sciences, and to participate in the many aspects of the organization’s operation.
