Radio Communautaire Missisquoi Inc. (RCM) is a non-profit organization that was founded to establish and operate an English-language community radio station, with some bilingual programming, to serve Brome-Missisquoi and surrounding areas in Quebec’s Eastern Townships.There is a wealth of talent in this very special corner of the Townships. We are rich in the arts, and our actors, artists, craftspeople, dancers, musicians and writers enhance our lives daily. They also inspire our young people and teach them creative skills that help to build their identity and allow them to seize new opportunities.
This is an opportunity for RCM, as a community owned non-profit organization, to evolve into a multi-media instrument for developing the arts and creating jobs locally through the production of programs for radio and television and by the promotion of events. We will work to this end by forging alliances with arts organizations in the community. This is the future we see for RCM, one that fits well with our mandate and with our mission “Being Who We Are”.
Launching a new community radio station and getting it on the air is an ambitious undertaking. The process that must be followed is difficult and lengthy. A decade after its inception, RCM has at last realized its original dream.
